The Town of Sherry – Town of Milladore Recycling Center is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for your recycling needs. Solid waste bags for your household garbage are available for purchase.

NOTICE OF SPRING ELECTION, Town of Sherry, Wood County, April 4, 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the Town of Sherry, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

   Town Board Supervisor Jeff Bean
   Town Board Supervisor Les Holtz
   Town Clerk Sandra Lobner
   Town Treasurer Linda Haas

Office Terms
All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Caucus for Candidates
Between December 1st, 2022 and January 1st, 2023, a date for the town caucus will be scheduled to nominate candidates to appear on the spring election ballot for the above listed offices. The caucus will be held between January 2nd and January 21st. Notice of the scheduled date of the caucus will be given at least five (5) days before the caucus.

Additional Information
Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

At the election to be held on November 8, 2022, in the Town of Sherry of Wood County, Wisconsin, the following polling place location will be used for the wards indicated:

 Notice of Meeting of the Local Board of Canvassers

At the close of voting on Election Day, pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 19.84, the Election Inspectors at each polling place will convene as the Local Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting the local canvass pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 7.51.  This meeting will be open to the public pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§ 19.81-89.

 Notice of Meeting of the Local and Municipal Board of Canvassers (MBOC)

At the close of voting on Election Day, pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 19.84, the Election Inspectors will convene as a joint meeting of the Local Board of Canvassers and the MBOC for the purpose of conducting the local and municipal canvasses pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§7.51 and 7.53(1). This meeting will be open to the public pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§ 19.81-89.

Notice of Meeting of MBOC to Process Rehabilitated Provisional Ballots

If provisional ballots have been issued and are subsequently cured by the voter before 4:00 p.m. on the Friday after the election, the MBOC must meet no later than the following Monday at 9:00 a.m. to process the cured provisional ballots.  This is a public meeting and requires applicable notice.
