Notice of Meeting to Adjourn Board of Review to Later Date

Town of Sherry, Wood County

Board of Review will meet on the 15th of May, 2018, at 6:45 p.m., at the Sherry Town Hall, located at 9285 Second St., Milladore, WI 54454, for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the forty-five day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April, pursuant to Sec. 70.47(1) of Wisconsin Statutes.

Due to the fact the assessment roll is not completed at this time, it is anticipated that the Board of Review will be adjourned until the 21st day of August, 2018, at 6:45 p.m.

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT – SPRING ELECTION

                                                                                   VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot.  A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. 

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing or through MyVote.wi.gov.

Go to the website – MyVote.wi.gov and request an absentee ballot online.  A message will be sent to the Clerk from the “MyVote” system, and an absentee ballot will be mailed to you within 24 hours of receiving the message, if ballots are availableOr, contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter or e-mail to sherrytownclerk@gmail.com.  Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail or in person.

Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail

The deadline for making application to receive an absentee by mail is:

5 pm on the fifth day before the election, March 29, 2018.

Note:    Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror.  If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

Voting an absentee ballot in person            PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in-person.  Please let me know if you require special accommodations for in-person voting.

   Please call to set-up a time to vote at the Clerk’s address within these hours.

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is:

March 19, 2018

The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office:

March 30, 2018

No in-person absentee voting may occur on Monday, April 2, 2018.

The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on April 3, 2018.
