POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Town of Sherry, Wood County, WI is seeking applications for the position of Town Clerk

This position is a part-time salaried position averaging 12-18 hours per week with the responsibility of providing administrative services to the Sherry Town Board.

Qualifications include:

1. Associate degree in business, human resources, accounting, or experience in areas relevant to position preferred.
2. Minimum of two years’ experience in an office setting required.
3. Working knowledge and proficiency with QuickBooks Applications.
4. Working Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Strong strengths in oral and written communication.
6. Strong organizational skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Maintain and safeguard all official town records.
2. Provide administrative support to the Sherry Town Board.
3. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
4. Prepare agendas for town meetings.
5. Attend Town meetings and record proceedings.
6. Manage public records requests.
7. Knowledge of election laws and procedures and oversee Town elections.
8. Ensure all town activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
10. Maintain and update the town’s website.
11. Coordinate with other municipal departments.
12. Prepare and distribute official town documents.
13. Administer oaths of office.
14. Maintain records of town ordinances, resolutions, and contracts.
15. Assist in the development and implementation of town policies and procedures.
16. Manage the town’s retention schedule.
17. Coordinate special projects as assigned by the Town Board.
18. Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
19. Maintain scheduling of recycle center personnel.
20. Maintain recycling center financial records.
21. Attend training as needed under the direction of the Town Board.

5th Annual Community Christmas Sing!

Come join us as we listen to the Auburndale Middle &amp; High School FFA and Choir as they sing the beloved songs of the Christmas season. The students will be arriving around 11:45 a.m. to join us for lunch!
A light lunch featuring BBQ and salads will be served. If you’d like to bring something for lunch, please call Bev at the number below to let her know what you’ll be contributing. Refreshments will be available (coffee, hot chocolate, soda & water). Since the students are joining us early, we are asking everyone to please bring a dozen treats (cookies, bars, a cake, candy etc.) along for everyone’s enjoyment after lunch.
Doris Mielke and other volunteers will provide the accompaniment for the students. She will have her song
sheets along so we can join in the singing. Please invite your family, friends, and former residents. Contact Bev Peaslee 715-652-0256 for questions.

NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION – Stevens Point Area Public School District
April 1, 2025
Election Details – An election is to be held in the School District of Stevens Point on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.
Office Incumbent
     School Board Member Jennifer Bushman
     School Board Member Dennis Raabe
     School Board Member Barb Portzen

Office Terms – The term of office for school board member is three years beginning on Monday, April 28, 2025, and expiring on April 23, 2028. A description of the school district boundaries can be obtained from the school district office.

For Candidates – A Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the office of the school district clerk.

If nomination papers are required, the first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2024, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the office of the school district clerk.

Primary Election – If a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Additional Information – Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo
ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Members of the Sherry Town Board will establish a quorum on Wed, Dec 4, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
Location: Sigel Town Hall, 3698 Town Hall Road, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495
Purpose: Sherry Town Board will meet with the Sigel Town Board to discuss water problems on Lundberg Road.
